We've Had a Good Week

Our town installed new playground equipment at one of the local parks so we spent part of the day Saturday playing together.
Jacqueline climbs all the way up to the top without help.
Daddy-powered merry go round
Ahoy there mateys!
My three monkeys
For science this week we played with food coloring and water. Asher learned about primary and secondary colors. His favorite part? The fact that we could drink our experiment.

We have a local "farm" that the kids can go to to look at animals. I realized that the last time I went there Asher was Jacqueline's age, so it's been awhile. Asher's favorite animal there was the peacocks. This is probably because we recently read a book about them. I was impressed that he remembered that this was a boy because of it's long train.

This week we noticed that Jacqueline's verbal skills are increasing. Up to this time she hasn't even tried to talk a whole lot, then on Tuesday we were having dinosaur shaped sandwiches and we were making roaring sounds and saying dinosaur when she all of a sudden opened her mouth and said, "din-o-sor". Wahoo! She is now loving books and has to have one before every nap or bedtime or she will throw a fit. I don't love the temper tantrums, but at least now she's becoming upset because she wants something good. Before she HATED books and would scream and squirm if I tried reading to her.
Blankets and books
She loves being swaddled and she was especially happy that she could be wrapped up AND walking around
Working on glow in the dark sand craft that didn't end up glowing very well. Asher now uses the container as his "phone"
Playing with mulch at our local neighborhood park
Water and dirt, a truly natural child entertainment system
The aftermath bath
Have a great week everyone!
