Following His Father's Footsteps?

We happen to live by a skatepark and Asher LOVES watching the skateboarders. For litteraly a year he has been asking for a skateboard, to which of course I said "no". Rob was a skateboarder years and year ago, so we are families with the many injuries that can, and will, occur. The lifestyle is not exactly wholesome either. But, it's really hard to continue to say no where your nice neighbor's older kids give your child their old skateboard because they know he wants one. So, with limitations, we are allowing him to "skateboard".
Rob wanted to show Asher how to properly stand on the skateboard, and other official techniques until I reminded him that Asher was a little boy with a board on wheels. Someday Rob can teach Asher tricks and other official stuff... maybe when he's 4 instead of 2.

UPDATE (8/20)
Asher has continued his interest in skateboards and so I invested (ie. saved on future hospital bills) in some knee and elbow guards. Unfortunately they do not make wrist guards for a little guy his size so gloves for scrapes will have to work for now.

Asher had started getting out of bed at night and so I told him that if he didn't get out of bed once that I would take him to the skateboard park. It took him 4 or 5 nights, but he finally did it.

He was a little excited.
Right after this picture was taken he pushed his skateboard off the platform with his feet, jumped off, and ran after the renegade skateboard. It's good to see that he wasn't trying anything too dangerous (yet).
