Mom and Dad Visit and a New Bed

My parents took a quick trip over Labor Day weekend to deliver a beautiful bed that my Dad made for Asher. My sister Cayla, just returned from her mission, accompanied them and it was fun having them all out.
Asher LOVES Cayla
Asher does not yet feel comfortable without tall sides on his bed, so we waited a bit ('til October) to transition him to his new bed. When we had tried a normal toddler rail he started waking up several times a night and wouldn't take naps. Needless to say, neither Asher nor Mommy were happy. So, Mommy made Asher a "castle" when we moved him to his new bed.

He can climb out of it (the fabric is a single knit that merely pulls down), but it gives him the comfort he needs at night and the boundary Mommy needs during naptime. The transition was a success and we now have an empty crib waiting for baby sister. Asher climbed into future baby's bed one time and started calling for me, "Mommy, help baby sister's bed?". He had become stuck and wanted out.

Thanks for the beautiful cherry bed Dad! Someday everyone will see it without the "castle" covering it.
