Spartan Race

Two days after returning from Utah (ie. not fully recovered from the familycation), Rob ran a 10.5 or so mile relay race with approximately 75 obstacles.

Everyone participating had one chance to accomplish the obstacle. If they messed up, they had to do 30 "burpees" which are basically a jump up and then go down into plank position movement then back up again.

Rope climb, the last obstacle (it was encrusted with mud)
 Climbing walls
Two guys in full suits (including dress shoes) contemplating the monkey bars. They were "escorting" a woman the whole course.
Rob and friend Devin coming in at the halfway point, before the monkey bars
Friend Devin crossing the monkey bars

Mud pit (there were three in a row), Asher was intrigued
Wall climb following the mud pits
Everyone had to drag a cement block attached to a chain around a huge circle
 Another climbing wall
Side climbing wall
Javelin throw (only about 1 in 20 would make it). Rob made it
Rob at completing about 3/4 of the course
Rob facing the gladiators (girls would be poked, huge groups of guys linking arms would receive a major whallop)
The Team: Devin and McKell Poulton, Sarah and Brandon Calderwood, Rob, and family of Calderwoods
While waiting for people to come through the halfway point, Asher and I watched the people at the monkey bars. Asher all of a sudden dropped to the dirt and put his head on the ground and I thought, "Oh no, we just got here and already he is tired". But a few seconds later he stood up, lifted his arms and dropped to the ground again, repeating this several times. He was copying the people doing burpees! Funny Kid.

Congratulations Rob and team on finishing!
