Day 7 - Sunday

Mom and Dad took us to two wards today. First we went to a French-speaking ward in [Yverdom?] and then English-speaking in Geneva. Rob and I understand almost every single word in the French ward... but that may have something to do with the translators and headsets available :).
We were able to meet a couple of the young single adults that Mom and Dad are working with there. We also met a man who speaks five languages and his wife six or seven. It is pretty common to find people who speak two or three languages fluently in the Geneva Switzerland area. Children are required to study German, French, and English in school, though most only speak their native tongue and one other language fluently. This is amazing to me since I failed Spanish in high school.

After a quick nap and lunch at home, we headed to the English-speaking ward in Geneva. The actual church building is not very pretty. Rob says that there is enough concrete in the building to support a 747 airplane. We found out that back when it was built, public buildings were required to be built bomb resistant and have a bomb shelter in the basement. Just look at the thickness of the doors! We forgot to take a picture of the actual building, sorry!

The church is growing and doing well in Switzerland. Another ward, the Rive-Gauche ward, had 10 baptisms last year, effectively increasing it's membership by 10%. Everyone was so friendly and receptive.
