So I almost gave Rob a heart attack a few months ago when I pulled out three full cow hides to reupholster a chair. No, I have never reupholstered anything in my life; and yes, I am a bit crazy for starting out with leather. The biggest problem has been covering the buttons. I accidentally bought 4-5 ounce leather which is much thicker than standard upholstery leather. I sent some leather into a button maker but alas, they said it was too thick! Finally, Rob had the idea that we could grind the leather down with a Dremel and it worked! Pictures show the work in progress and I will update it when the chair is complete (which will hopefully be soon!).

I didn't know you guys have a blog! We just started one a couple of months ago. Did you do this chair on your own? I'm really impressed. Love you guys!

that looks awesome Crystal! I can't wait to see the finished product. And I can see your cute shelves in the picture, I like them. It was fun to see you the other day. We'll have to do something again soon!
That looks amazing!
I just found you on Patti's blog. And oh my GOSH! That chair is looking so good! I love that old style of chair. I've got one sitting in my great room that I bought to reupholster... I'm too scared to start it though!
