3 Events - 1 Trip

n. pl. Effectiveness: Taking one trip to Ohio and participating in three events, my parent's 30th wedding anniversary, brother Curtis' mission farewell, and a visit with my grandparents.

It was really nice spending an evening celebrating my parents 30 years of marriage. They are such an example to me of love, respect, and patience, and what can be accomplished when a couple rely on the Lord and make Him the center of their marriage. Thank you Mom and Dad and we all look forward to your 40th!

My brother Curtis headed off to the Missionary Training Center and will soon enter the Edmonton, Canada Mission. I was excited to see him head off and know he will bring a lot of joy to those he serves.

My Grandparents, especially my Grandma, are more like friends to me than anything. I can always obtain good advice and talk with them about anything. I wish we had had more time to talk, but with a child to take care of, those moments were scarcer then I would have liked. Maybe that's why each moment seemed more special than usual.

Rob absolutely loved spending so much time with Asher. He would take Asher outside and the two of them would crawl around in the grass together, with Asher laughing or smiling when he looked up at Rob. Asher would spy the swing and head towards it and Rob would oblige him with a long and relaxing swing ride.

This is how excited Asher is every time we help him walk

As a bonus, we were also able to visit with Rob's parents. They took us out to lunch, gave us a roof over our heads for a night, and loaded up an inflatable raft into our car (more to come about that later).

On the way home we stopped at my first roadside barbecue where we enjoyed smoked chicken, yummy! They had a little table on the backside that we sat at and ate our lunch.
