Two Months to Go!

Here's a belly picture update:


Asher is still active and kicking. Rob has already threatened to ground him for kicking me, but I keep telling Rob that this is the one time Asher is allowed to kick me :). I can tell that his bones have now hardened as I often feel a foot or knee on my right hand side. Another ultrasound appointment showed that his kidney's are normal, although the doctor would like me to go for another one to make extra sure. Another excuse to see Asher before he's born :).

We are going to be finishing up Lamaze classes tomorrow evening, which has greatly reduced the worry I had about delivery and I highly recommend that people take a class! Rob has a hard time taking it all seriously, especially when it comes to visualization exercises. Some of the scenes the teacher shares are pretty funny, such as when she said that the fishermen in the visualization exercise release the fish because they don't want to harm it. I thought to myself, "Why not keep it and cook it up for dinner?" I found out from the instructor that if you laugh during a contraction you will be in greater pain, this will be hard for us since Rob's remedy to most of my pains and problems is to make me laugh! Oh, well.

A second level diabetes test (four hours) showed that I do not have gestational diabetes. Every night I have been waking up starving, so a 10 pound weight gain within a month wasn't too surprising, I probably needed it anyway. Nothing much to complain about except a little feet swelling (it's not a myth I found out). A month ago I played ultimate frisbee with some friends, one week ago helped a friend with a basement project and this last week painted a room in the townhouse we will be renting soon so I am not bed ridden.

Things are going well and we only have two months left to go!
